SELF DETERMINATION AND MOTIVATION OF CINDERELLA IN INTO THE WOODS MOVIE DIRECTED BY ROB MARSHALL BASED ON PSYCHOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE

ABSTRACT

 

 

 

Nisrina Irfani (21130222), Self-Determination and Motivation of Cinderella in Into the Woods Movie Directed by Bob Marshall Based on Psychological Perspective.

 

The aims of the research are to find the causes and effects from self-determination and motivation of main character in Into the Wood movie that directed by Rob Marshall. In this case, the writer used descriptive qualitative method from the data and theories from another experts, although source from the library and internet as a supporting data analysis. The writer used Ryan Richard M theory to analyse self-determination and used Goerge and Jones theory to analyse motivation, also used Sigmund Freud theory to analyse psychological perspective. The results of the study are: (1) Cinderella gets a true happiness from her new environment and new family into the woods (2) The types of motivation of main character are intrinsic and extrinsic motivation (3) The causes and effect of Cinderella’s self- determination makes her self better than before (4) The motivation of Cinderella can makes a good impact to the other charater. (5) Based on psychological perspective there are personality and behavior of Cinderella as a main character. Id appear when Cinderella loving the prince charming, The Ego’s appear when Cinderella hopes she has a good life in the future. Cinderella tries to reach what she wants. The Superego’s appear when there are a lot of problem to Cinderella’s life she still fights and never give up.
